piggybankWe all know how important money is and how important it is to look after your money. Many of you will be saving your pocket money to buy birthday and Christmas presents for your friends and family. I know there are lots of you saving up for your school outings and family holidays.

Some of you older ones will be preparing to go off to university or saving to buy your first car and those so expensive driving lessons.

Parents also have to save their money to be able to afford to pay for the more expensive items in their lives.

It is important that we all learn the value of money at an early stage in our lives.

Did you know that young people can start a savings account with local Banks and Building Societies, and that most of those banks and Building Societies will pay you a small amount of money called interest if you open an account with them?

You are never too young or never too old to start saving. Why not ask your parents how to do it.
