Street dance sessions are coming!

Youngsters and adults alike will have a chance to learn hip-hop moves and a variety of other funky dancing styles at special classes being held in the district.

The Street Dance classes, which begin at Kibworth Grammar School Hall on November 13 and are supported by Harborough District Council, provide a great way to learn how to dance as well as being an entertaining and energetic way to keep fit.

The classes will run every Tuesday after that.

It doesn’t matter if you have never danced before, the instructor will be on hand to help you through the moves.

A Harborough District Council spokesman, said: “Street Dance is such an energetic form of dance, it is a great way to get fit. Not only that, but it is great fun and the routines are done to modern, funky music that appeals to all ages.”

The classes are run by a qualified instructor and are open to the ages of six years old, and above, with different categories for each age group;

For ages four to seven year olds, classes run from 4pm-4.30pm and cost £3, for ages eight to 12 years classes run from 4.30pm-5.15pm and cost £4, and for ages 13 years old and above, classes run from 5.15pm-6.30pm and cost £4.

From January 14, 2008, classes, featuring Latin American, street and ballroom dancing, will take place every Monday in Great Bowden.

All teachers are IDTA qualified (International Dance Teachers Association) and have CRB certificates and insurance.
